A British father and son were injured early on Friday morning after a fire destroyed an apartment building in Thailand.
The family members, named by police as Victor Misell, 73, and son Daniel, 51, fled the building when a glass window exploded in the heat, sending shrapnel flying towards them.
Paramedic Thaksin Tienkhao, 25, was also injured as he helped evacuate residents from View Talay Residence 5 in Pattaya’s Jomtien district.
The owner, Daniel, suffered smoke inhalation, while his father Victor suffered burns to parts of his body. Both are being treated in hospital.
Police Colonel Navin Thirawit, chief inspector of Pattaya City Police Station, said: “We sent officers to inspect the scene and found that the source of the fire was in room 612, which was badly damaged before the flames spread to other rooms.” The View Talay Residence 5 in the Jomtien area of ​​Pattaya (pictured) caught fire this morning

“We are investigating the cause of the fire and are contacting forensic police to assist with the inspection of the building.”
Officers said they received a 911 call at 2:46 a.m. on November 1.
Police and firefighters arrived at the popular seven-story apartment building and evacuated dozens of British residents, many of whom were suffocated by smoke.
Authorities also encountered frightened tourists using flashlights to call for help.
