A young trick-or-treater showed an unexpected level of generosity this Halloween when he decided to fill an empty lollipop bowl with his own candy.
Tahdyn Butterworth had stopped by a house in Adelaide on Thursday when he noticed that all the lollipops handed out by the homeowner had already been taken.
The 11-year-old then decided to selflessly reach into his own bag and pull out two large handfuls of candy to fill the bowl for the next visitors.
Taydyn’s act of kindness was captured on the house’s Ring camera by the door, with the 11-year-old smiling and waving at the camera before leaving.
“I went to get some candy but there was nothing in it so I took some of mine, about two handfuls,” he told Seven News.
The video of Tahdyn refilling the bowl went viral on social media, with dozens of people applauding the boy for sharing his loot.
“He will grow up to be a caring and thoughtful gentleman… What a little legend,” one woman said.

‘I saw a lot of kids doing this. Even sharing from your own bucket with other kids on the street. Kids are generally kindhearted. Well done to this young boy,’ added a second.
‘He’s rooting for the right team,’ said a third, pointing to Tahdyn’s Adelaide Crows AFL shirt.
