A Bathurst 1000 driver has reportedly ‘lost everything’ after a massive fire destroyed his Gold Coast home while he was racing in the Bathurst 1000 on Saturday afternoon.
Brad Jones Racing driver Declan Fraser had teamed up with Andre Heimgartner for Sunday’s big race at Mount Panorama and learned of the devastating fire during the event.
Multiple fire engines were called to the Hope Island home. Seven News revealed on Sunday afternoon that the house belonged to 24-year-old Fraser.
Fox Sports commentator Neil Crompton had revealed the extent of the fire during a live broadcast on Sunday.
“When (Heimgartner) was there doing his Top-10 Shootout, (Fraser’s) house burned down,” Crompton told Fox Motorsport on Sunday.
“He’s lost everything.
“His dad spoke to me this morning. He is being asked because all his trophies are gone, he had success in Super 2, he is being asked how we could buy or copy this.

But it was reported that his Hope Island home went up in flames on Saturday
“He doesn’t even have any clothes.”
Fox Sports understands that Fraser, 24, recently moved to Hope Island from Melbourne.
Local reports have confirmed that no one was injured in the fire.

Mark Walding of the Gold Coast Fire Service added: “It’s been gutted so the house will have to be completely demolished and rebuilt.”
