Elon Musk gave about $75 million to his pro-Donald Trump spending group over the three-month period, federal disclosures showed Tuesday, underscoring how crucial the billionaire has become to the Republican candidate’s efforts to win the Nov. 5 presidential election. America PAC, which focuses on turning out voters in closely contested states that could decide the election, spent about $72 million of that in the July-September period, according to disclosures filed with the Federal Election Commission.
That is more than any other Pro-Trump Super PAC that focuses on mobilizing voters. The Trump campaign is largely dependent on external groups to recruit voters, which means that the Super Pac founded by Musk – the world’s richest man – plays a disproportionate role in the razor -sharp election between Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris.
Musk, the CEO of electric car manufacturer Tesla, was the only donor of the group in that period.
Musk, who said that in the past he voted for democratic presidential candidates, has made this election a sharp turn. He ended Trump in July and appeared at a meeting in Pennsylvania earlier this month.
On Wednesday, Musk said in a post on X that he “will give a series of conversations” throughout Pennsylvania, less than two weeks after his appearance with Trump in the state.

On Wednesday, Musk said in a post on X that he “will give a series of conversations” throughout Pennsylvania, less than two weeks after his appearance with Trump in the state.
He said that people only had to sign a petition on his America PAC website to attend his conversations from “tomorrow night to Monday.”
Reuters reported that he quoted a source last week that Musk had planned more campaign for Trump in Pennsylvania and a crucial state for both Trump and his democratic opponent Harris considered in the race for the White House.
Musk’s donations to America Pac push him to the exclusive club of Republican Megadonors, a list that also contains banks heir Timothy Mellon and Casino billionaire Miriam Adelson.
However, Reuters reported earlier this month that Musk has secretly funded a conservative political group for years, well before his public embrace of Trump.
America Pac refused to comment on the Musk donations. Musk did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
America PAC is aimed at encouraging Americans who love Trump, but not always voting to vote for this cycle, a risky, labor-intensive strategy through the Trump campaign.
The group, which later started his work in the elections than other PACs, has encountered some problems with hiring and his contractors. Since July it has fired two large contractors who hired it to knock on doors.
It also has difficulty hiring door buttons in various battlefield states, partly because by the time the PAC became operational, many other research groups had already been manned, half a dozen sources informed about the issues told Reuters.
The group had about $ 4 million on the hand at the end of September, according to the archives.
Separate archives earlier on Tuesday showed that Miriam Adelson, the casinoMagnaat, donated $ 95 million to another Pro-Trump Super Pac, keep America PAC in the same period.
